TNT launches Asia Road Network PDF Print E-mail

Vietnam, July 2007 – TNT Express, the world’s leading express delivery company has launched Asia road network in Vietnam - a further development of this network after the first phase spanning Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand in 2005. This road network launch is very important for Vietnam’s economy in light of increasing demand for high quality express services. The TNT Asia Road Network will offer businesses a cost and time effective solution with a land transport service besides the conventional sea and air freight.

“Vietnam is integrating into the world economy and Vietnamese enterprises have become trusted partners of many multinational corporations, especially those headquartered in the ASEAN region. Being aware of fast development of Asian Economies as well as the strategic location of Vietnam in the region’s transportation network, we have invested 8 million Euros to develop this network. The TNT Road Network enables us to provide integrated and most effective road express delivery service, creating an unrivalled competitive advantage in express services for our company.” said Mr. Mark Van Den Assem – Country General Director of TNT Vietnam

The TNT Asia Road Network offers businesses a cost and time effective solution with a land transport service that will provide significant savings compared to air freight and with transit times that are two to three times faster than sea freight.

As with all TNT services, The Asia Road Network offers customers a fully inclusive door-to-door solution. The most important edge that TNT has over other transport service providers is complete track and trace capabilities at anytime and anywhere in the world provided to customers using the Asia Road Network service. Dedicated security trained drivers as well as container trucks equipped with Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) tracking provides peace-of-mind for customers with high-value goods such as electronic and computing components, as well as automotive parts.

TNT will continuously expand the Asia Road Network to China through the North-East border of Vietnam at the end of this year. By that time, this network will cover 605 areas and link 120 cities across 4000 km, allowing a saving cost of around 30% compared with air freight. TNT’s vision is to expand the Asia Road Network to many other countries in the region to make it a backbone transport road, similar to the road network in Europe and the Middle East. The TNT European Road Network is the most extensive road delivery network in Europe. It links 33 countries, handles 4,000 Europe-wide international line hauls across 2,000,000 kilometers with 5,700 tones of freight every week
